In 2007 a group of individuals came together to address the need for an animal shelter in the area, and the Wild Rose Humane Society (WRHS) was born and established as a non-profit organization. WRHS believes that opening a shelter only solves a small part of a problem that is much bigger than simply providing temporary accommodation for homeless pets. Through our Spay/Neuter Subsidy Program and education programs we hope to be a larger part of the solution and finally reach the goal that is common to all shelters and rescues – no more homeless pets.
Our Society of dedicated and compassionate volunteers is committed to sheltering animals in need and encouraging responsible pet ownership through the promotion of ethical and humane treatment of animals in the communities between Innisfail and Airdrie.
Providing progressive resources for the ethical and humane treatment of animals within the communities we serve.
